The Watford Shopper Bus Service is a community-driven initiative, supported by Watford Borough Council, that is designed to make shopping trips easier and more accessible for those who need extra support.
Whether you’re facing mobility challenges, social anxiety, or other vulnerabilities, our shopper bus is here to help you regain your independence and connect with your community.
Want to book a trip?
To book your Shopper Bus journey, you can telephone 01727 649980, email travel@communities1st.org.uk or visit us in one of our Healthy or Outreach Hubs. Our friendly staff will guide you through a simple registration process.
Fares are £3 each way for passengers and £1 each way for accompanying carers. A nominal yearly fee (£10) grants you access to this invaluable service.
Special Offer: 20% Discount
Until March 2025, you will receive a discount of 20% on block bookings of four trips or more!
Example
If you book four return trips, you only need to pay £19.20 instead of £24 (plus your £10 nominal fee to access the service).

How does it work?
Registration
To get started, simply contact us via phone, email or visit one of our Healthy or Outreach Hubs. Our friendly staff will guide you through a simple registration process where we'll collect some basic information to tailor the service to your needs.

Schedule Your Trip
Once registered, you can book your space on the bus for your desired shopping trip. Our service currently operates on Mondays and Tuesdays, making planning your shopping trips easy.
Enjoy Your Shopping
On the day of your trip, our bus will pick you up from your home. You'll have ample time to do your shopping and enjoy a hassle-free return journey.

Your safety and comfort are our top priorities. Our buses are equipped to accommodate various needs and our drivers and volunteers are trained to provide the support you need. Volunteers can assist passengers with carrying bags, fetching items, and aiding in boarding and disembarking.
