Full Description:
At Emmaus Hertfordshire we help people leave homelessness behind them by giving them a place to live and the support they need to get back on their feet again. A key method of raising money for our charity is to run social enterprises. We offer a house clearance service for a fee and sell the items we receive. As a volunteer eBay packer you will be contributing to a vital part of this process, raising much needed funds. Ensuring sold items, including breakables, are packed securely to reach purchasers in good condition is extremely important.

Volunteering for Emmaus will give you the satisfaction of helping your local homelessness charity. It may also give you confidence to get back into the working world after a break whilst enhancing your CV or work experience. Alternatively, you may be newly retired or not working and have the time to give something back.

We are looking for help for a reliable 3 hours a week on Thursdays or Fridays. Naturally we are able to accommodate occasional changes.

Ideally you will be able to stand to do the role for some of the time, although we can accommodate someone wishing to sit. Parcels that we pack come in all shapes and sizes and ideally you will be able to lift them on to a table top.

You will undergo a 1 hour induction process at Head Office in St Albans. We can arrange transport there if necessary. This will give you a good overview of our charity which we think will be helpful and informative for you.
